Pinetop-Lakeside by Chris Paxman

Take a walk on the wild side. Keepers of the Wild Animal Sanctuary is a haven for more than 140 exotic and indigenous critters.

Right Now

To give you a sense of place, Valentine is located off of famed Route 66 less than an hour’s drive from Kingman and just 100 miles from both Lake Mead and Grand Canyon National Park. But the tiny town’s claim to fame is its big heart.

Keepers of the Wild is a nonprofit that provides life-long sanctuary to native and exotic animals including coyotes and wolves, bears, big cats, reptiles, goats, and birds that have been rescued, surrendered, or placed by animal welfare agencies. With an emphasis on education and advocacy, the sanctuary welcomes visitors on guided safari and feeding tours. All admission fees and gift shop purchases directly support food, shelter, and medical expenses.
