Nestled in the White Mountains on the edge of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Eagar offers small-town hospitality and a calendar full of fun things to do.

Right Now

Wondering what a round valley is? It means to head out of town in any direction, you have to go up. And what picturesque heights you’ll travel.

Drawing visitors from around the Southwest, you can bike, bird-watch, fish, hike, horseback ride, hunt, and off-road in mild weather; and ice fish, sled, downhill ski, snowmobile, and cross-country ski in winter. Nearby Big Lake Recreation Center and Lyman Lake State Park extend the range of possibilities.

Eagar and its sister city, Springerville, really shine during seasonal events. The town’s Easter Eggstravaganza features an egg hunt and other fun activities for the whole family. Christmas brings even more pageantry, with a visit from Santa Claus, an electric light parade, a European-style market, and a tour of the historic homes on the tree-lined streets of town.
